Saturday, 14th December

Show starts at 7:30 pm

The December line up is coming together . . .

. . . . keeping music and our village halls alive with another night of great music, with  One Lump or Two as our feature act. The other acts are: The Rural Broadband, Peter Ivey, Ryewolf, MUNTJAC, Graham Young aka The Martian Pariah,  Mark Northfield and Martin Wood.

.  . . . so, we have three new acts for you on the Peppard stage!

The MC for the evening is Rhodri Buttrick

(Subject to change, as usual because sometimes 'stuff happens'!)

Acoustic music!

One Lump or Two comprises Tom, Lynnette and Martyn who play in several local bands, most notably The Kennet Delta Cowboys, but One Lump or Two is what they do for fun. Creative reimagining of songs you'll know and obscure quirky whimsical treats. Foot tapping and singalong jollity is this entertaining trio is about.

They played for us at the May Bank Holiday Sonning Common Food Market in the summer and we just had to get them on our stage! See a clip in this video (Opening soundtrack and from 1' 30").

New to the Peppard stage

The Rural Broadband is Robert Buttrick, Fay Freemantle and Mike Tuffery, giving us a mix songs of love, lust, and parting. Seen at Bunkfest,  GAP Festival, GSMC's Acoustic Cafe and other venues in the area.

Peter Ivey is a fingerstyle guitarist with a vast range of songs to entertain. Often seen on Folk O'Clock.

Muntjac is a Rock cover band based in Reading consisting of Dan (guitar & vocals), Andy (drums) and Dave (bass & vocals).  They met via Meetup a decade ago.  Muntjac want to find the sensitive side to Nu Metal and make pop songs anxious.  Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl is their creative muse, admittedly more by accident than by design. .

Ryewolf is a folk band bringing classic songs of the sea as well as their own songs.  Think foot-stomping, hand clapping and dancing!  Features Michael Tuffery, Ian Freedman and Bogdan  Dobraszczyk (on his self-made mandolas - orders welcome!).

Graham Young aka The Martian Pariah is a local singer/songwriter and plays solo acoustic, originals and covers, mainly in the rock/blues genre. He was in the rock band No Connection for 20 years and with the Spanish/Latin acoustic act Los Dos Gringos for 14 years, has played in six different countries and made 15 albums.

New to the Peppard stage

Mark Northfield is  a pianist, composer and singer/songwriter was a founder member of occasional piano trio Cherry Mint Koala (alongside two seriously fine musicians: violinist Charlie Brown and cellist Tony Woollard). Mark is fond of making precise, thoughtful and slightly melancholic pop with a prominent classical and theatrical streak, often featuring other vocalists.

Martin Wood is a blues singer and player par excellence, either solo or with his band, The Rag and Moan Men. Blues, Folk, Roots, Americana and a little bit of Jazz from the North Hants Delta.  (Photo: Martin Wackenier)

The buffet is yummy . . .  and the special December raffle is being assembled!
